The role of international cooperation in the prevention on forced displacement and the protection of the displaced population in Columbia, “Pedro Arrupe” Human Rights Institute of the Universidad de Deusto, funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation. Funding Body: Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation. Researcher in charge: Cristina Churruca Muguruza Description: The general objective of this project is to analyse the role of international cooperation in support for the Columbian State in the prevention of forced displacement and the protection of the displaced population. Firstly, it is a question of identifying how international cooperation can support the development of an integral displacement prevention policy. Secondly, it is a question of promoting an effective protection of the displaced communities and the population at risk from displacement from a humanitarian perspective. A rights-oriented approach would essentially be a bottom-to-top approach which would permit the participation of the displaced communities and those at risk in the questions concerning their welfare.
